Makhoul Trading, a manufacturer of powdered juices, desserts and baking products, opened a wafer factory in Zahle's industrial zone in early June.
The factory, which produces the wafer brand 'Galeta', is built on a 3,000 square meters (m2) land plot. The total built-up area is 1,200 m2.
"The decision taken by the Cabinet, which bans wafers imported from Turkey, will create a huge demand," said Chairman Paul Makhoul.
Makhoul invested more than $3 million in the project.
