Syrian refugees consume the equivalent of one power plant. Additional electricity demand covered by power barges


Displaced Syrian families consume 486 megawatts (MW) of electricity per year, an equivalent of five hours a day or $333 million per year, according to The Impact of the Syrian Crisis on the Power Sector and Priority Recommendations report. The report was prepared by the Ministry of Energy and Water and UN Development Programme (UNDP). It was funded by the Netherlands.
