Tripoli shuts down malfunctioning sorting plant. Will develop temporary landfill


The Municipality of Tripoli closed a waste sorting facility that serves Fayhaa Union of Municipalities, after complaints by citizens about the stench emanating from it.

The Chairman of the Tripoli Municipal Board, Ahmad Kamareddine, said: "We brought experts to inspect the source of the stench because we thought it was from the dump. They were conclusive that the source is the sorting plant."
