Lebanon, represented by Minister of Tourism Michel Pharaon, will preside over the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Commission for the Middle East, for a two-year mandate. Egypt and Yemen representatives were elected as vice presidents. The election was concluded during the statutory meeting of the 41st UNWTO Commission for the Middle East, held in Medellin, Colombia.
Following the election, the yearly assembly of the World Tourism Organization was scheduled for May 2016 in Beirut.
